A Letter From The Founder
Technology is my passion, but every passion needs a focus. I focus mine on helping America’s small businesses because I love that there are still small businesses that make things. Sure, the internet age has created jobs that didn’t even exist ten years ago, produced startup billionaires, and changed our world forever — but it’s the small businesses full of makers, doers, and builders who get me out of bed each morning.
There are close to 30 million small businesses across the United States employing over 56.8 million hardworking Americans – and it is these businesses that are America’s heart, its pulse. To keep their blood flowing, each and every one of them needs capital. They need it to function today and grow tomorrow.
But the small business lending industry is frozen in time, and nothing’s changed in it for more than 25 years. Finance brokers charge eye-watering commissions for doing little to nothing, skimming the cream off each transaction as if it was their birthright. Their greed makes essential borrowing more expensive for small businesses as they struggle to expand, and it’s sometimes enough to tip them into bankruptcy, making the prospect of starting a business even more daunting than it already is.
It really shouldn’t be this way – it seems wasteful and old-fashioned to me, and that’s why I started Sparkir. We aim to turn the clock forward a couple of decades and cut out the middlemen with a innovative platform that makes small business lending affordable, straightforward, and perhaps most importantly, transparent.
The team at Sparkir has been hard at work turning this vision into reality, and I’m humbled by the extraordinary array of workers, investors and advisors we’ve assembled to make this happen. We’re building something that’s going to fundamentally change how businesses acquire capital, and we’re looking to deliver real value to those that need it the most.
I’ve spent my entire professional life helping businesses thrive. I’ve born witness to the growing pains of many companies, and now I’m focusing my passion on helping small businesses get to where they’re going faster.
The American Dream is still alive and we’re here to ignite it with our spark.
Welcome to Sparkir.
Sincerely,
Ryan – Founder & CEO Sparkir
